AAL Forum 2011.
The biggest annual event of the Ambient Assisted Living community, AAL Forum 2011, is over. Interesting expositions and posters, work reports and future plans, project negotiations, discussion of the future of the AAL – that all had taken a place during the Forum. Vadym Kramar from Oulu University of Applied Sciences and Pekka Ala-Siuru from the university of Oulu have attended to the Forum. Vadym Kramar has presented a poster about the Finnish Reference Platform for the ICT Home Environment.

Softpoliksen Uusi Aalto started. The main goal of the project is to develop ICT industry according to Raahe Regional Trade Strategy and commission a regional model for co-operation among the innovative stakeholders of ICT industry. The essential stakeholders of the co-operative model are represented by regional companies, Raahen seudun yrityspalvelut, Raahe Region Technology Centre Ltd. and Pehr Brahe Center of Industrial and Services ICT with Oulu University of Applied Sciences and University of Oulu as the implementing organizations of ICT research and development activities.

RYHTI project workshop has taken a place.
RYHTI project workshop was hosted by YIT. Two invited guests attended to the workshop: professor Yvon Autret from UBO University, Brest, France, and professor Sei Ikeda from NAIST, Ikoma, Japan.

PBOL was invited to Open Day event organised by the universAAL project in Pisa, Italy. The Finnish Reference Platform for Home Environment initiative was presented to and discussed with the universAAL project consortium. Collaboration schemas were discussed and agreed.
The Finnish Reference Platform for Home Environment initiative was introduced at the EU networking workshop organized by VTT.
Vadym Kramar has attended to the EU networking workshop organized by VTT. He introduced the Finnish Reference Platform for Home Environment initiative - an idea of a national-wide platform that could serve as a basis for home solutions and can be built by a joined consolidated effort of all the stakeholders.

Research groups at PBOL presented their activities to Minister of Communications Suvi Linden and invited guests.
About:The Pehr Brahe Center for Industrial and Services ICT is a cooperative center specialised in the research and development of information technology and wireless communication. PBOL background organisations are the Oulu University of Applied Sciences, the Oulu University, and the City of Raahe. PBOL also cooperates closely with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in projects. The special strengths of each cooperation party are utilised in research projects.
